This Sticky rice is dehusked and milled as a sticky brown rice, with a somewhat nutty bite and flavor, excellent aroma and light brown color. As a fresh harvest, this new crop rice is extra tasty and fragrant.

About Thai Sticky Brown Rice (RD Maejo2)

Our Sticky rice RD Maejo 2, is a long-grain sticky rice, in the same tradition as Thailand's Isaan and Laotian long-grain sticky rice variety KK 6. Between the two varieties, the rice seed is very much the same in shape, aroma, taste, cooking and keeping characteristics, while the RD Maejo 2 is a shorter plant, suited to withstand monsoon and autumn storms that are quite prevalent in Thailand's north.

It is somewhat unusual to provide this rice as a long-grain sticky brown rice, but the interest and comments in earlier seasons have spurred us to continue. This partially milled sticky brown rice provides more fiber, vitamins and minerals than its fully milled white rice version.
